Then just accessorize with a wide array of accessories.

What is a Comforter?
Comforters are usually a printed shell with a solid or coordinating back that is filled with polyester. A comforter does not go to the floor like a bedspread. What is a Quilt?
Quilts are the perfect way to add simple charm with a traditional appeal to your bedroom. Quilts are usually made of many different types of fabric sewn together to create a look that may have been handed down generation to generation. The material is pieced into a design and has a layer of either polyester or cotton between the two sheets of fabric. Then, it is stitched either in a traditional or a unique scroll/outlined stitching style. Quilts are usually smaller than comforters and will require a bed skirt and shams.

What is a Bedspread?
Bedspreads are a timeless and simple classic covering for your top of the bed. Bedspreads cover the entire bed by hanging all the way to the floor and fold over your pillows. Standard size beds have a drop of 21”. If you have a larger bed you may have to purchase a bed skirt to give you the desired length on your bed. Shams are occasionally used to complement a bedspread.

What is a Coverlet?
Coverlets are lightweight, like a quilt. They tend to be used in warmer areas of the country in the summer, instead of a comforter or bedspread. Coverlets cover the top of bed only, similar to a comforter. Coverlets do not cover the bed pillows or hang to the floor like a bedspread. They are most often used in conjunction with both a bed skirt and shams. You will find that coverlets are often sold as an exact match in design to a comforter. They are lightweight, great for summer use or just for snuggling on your favorite sofa.

What are Shams?

Shams or Pillow Shams fit over your pillow. They usually have either a ruffled trim or more of a tailored look. Pillow Shams come in three sizes; standard is 20” X 26”, King size is 20” X 36”, and the Euro Sham is 26” X 26”. They are sold one per package.
